General Questions

Family First is a benefit offered by your employer that provides you access to a team of experts to support you in your caregiving journey. Whether you’re caring for an aging parent, a child, neighbor in need, or you’d like support yourself – Family First offers personalized caregiving solutions to help you achieve a healthy work-life balance. The benefit is free, 100% confidential and HIPAA-protected.

Care Experts are highly-qualified and experienced healthcare professionals. Their backgrounds include nursing, care management, and social work with extensive experience working inside complex health and human services systems.

With your employees, they will:

  • Work to understand their caregiving situation
  • Ensure they and their loved ones are on the correct care path
  • Develop a comprehensive care plan and ensure caregiving challenges have a resolution
  • Relieve the heartache, anxiety, stress and financial challenges that come with being a caregiver

Traditional backup care provides episodic childcare that doesn’t help employees build an effective strategy for long-term work-life balance.

Family First approaches caregiving challenges holistically. Our Care Experts work with employees to identify and solve for the root cause of childcare challenges and how they impact the whole family. We then work to find a long-term solution that includes addressing the care needs, as well as the stress, anxiety, and guilt associated with balancing childcare with work responsibilities.

While EAPs typically provide short-term counseling, crisis support, and referrals, Family First offers comprehensive, hands-on support for life's caregiving challenges.

Employees are paired with a dedicated Care Expert who helps them navigate complex needs, coordinate services, and find solutions for themselves and anyone they care for, including children, parents, partners, and loved ones.

Unlike traditional EAPs, Family First goes beyond referrals, providing personalized guidance, practical solutions, and ongoing support until challenges are resolved and care is stable.

Family First takes privacy and confidentiality seriously. We are HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 certified, following rigorous standards to protect personal and health information. Employees can confidently share sensitive information with their Care Expert, knowing their information is secure and never shared with their employer. Employers receive only aggregated, de-identified reporting.

Family First helps employees save time, reduce stress, and feel more supported while managing life's caregiving challenges. With personalized guidance from a dedicated Care Expert, employees spend less time navigating complex issues and more time focusing on what matters most. The impact includes a 97% employee satisfaction rating, more than 8 hours saved per week for caregiving employees, and reduced caregiver stress.

Employers receive a quarterly report highlighting Care Hub registrations, active users, and overall engagement. All reporting is aggregated to protect employee privacy and confidentiality.
